Sulu Blanket Collection

Explore the Collection and the story behind the designs

Sulu Collection

Sulu embodies the warmth of Aiga (family) - love, care, and connection.

Lucy and her father Lani

From Samoa, with Love

To honor my late father, Lani, who left Samoa as a teenager to build a new life in Aotearoa, New Zealand, these designs reflect the path he charted - facing every challenge with quiet strength and resilience, leaving a lasting impact on our family, community, and beyond.

The word Sulu in Samoan, means to illuminate, light up. It also means to wrap around and embrace - symbolizing the way Dad guides us forward, while surrounding us with his strength and love.

Inspiration

Inspired by the rich symbolism of Samoan artistry and ancestral craftsmanship - from Siapo (tapa cloth), Ie Tōga (fine mats), and Tatau (tattoo) each blanket celebrates the beauty, resilience, and legacy of our heritage.

Palliser Ridge Collaboration

The Sulu Collection is woven with luxurious lamb’s wool from Palliser Ridge - a sustainable farm in Wairarapa, NZ. The blankets reflect our shared values of quality, care, and a respect for local craftsmanship and natural materials.
