Our wonderful clients AndTwoStudio collaborated with us to design two custom rugs for this office and retail building. We created an irregular-shaped, layered look using a soft tonal palette, and the rugs mirror each other diagonally to bring warmth and cohesion to the space.

We are proud to have collaborated with the renowned design firm AvroKO on a stunning renovation for The Jay Hotel in San Francisco. Our role in this exciting project was to create three large, custom-designed rugs for the hotel’s reception, lobby, and lounge areas. Each rug was hand-tufted using 100% New Zealand wool, ensuring both exceptional quality and durability.

My clients in New Zealand asked me to design rugs for three main areas of their new Auckland apartment. Using my Artisan process, I curated three bespoke rugs with a clear brief: to create a calming, zen-like sanctuary for the couple. The Moa rug in the hallway fades from dark to light, making the entry feel soft and welcoming. In the dining area, Wilton adds color and movement, tying in perfectly with the sage chairs and dark wood table. And in the lounge, with its views over Auckland City, we reworked a Te Aro design to bring in their love of retro while still matching the apartment’s palette. Each decision, from color to texture to pattern, was made to ensure that the space felt both personal and cohesive, allowing these rugs to serve as the foundation of a thoughtfully layered home.

Reception

Collaborating with Fogarty Finger, two rugs were produced for a commercial pantry and reception area located on the sky-high 68th floor of NYC’s iconic Empire State Building. While straightforward in form and design, their production takes on a more bespoke approach - hand-tufted, 100% New Zealand wool with a tip-shear loop pile in the field, the burgundy lines slightly raised and contrasted by a cut-pile border.

Method + Moxie and their client decided on area rugs in warm, neutral hues for the entryway and a seating nook. Though the rugs are separated, they wanted them to be thematically connected, which we accomplished by using blue, silk lines – raised for a sense of movement on the nook piece. Each are hand-tufted in NZ wool, for refinement and durability.
